Spatially-navigable PALs with persistent cross-session memory, each a Tavus CVI persona you talk with.

**What Echo does today:** **Build a house, populate it with people.** A guided six-step House Builder lets you name your home, add the people who live there, assign each one a room in the cutaway, send invites, and pick a community character who greets arrivals at the door. Every member you add automatically spins up their own Tavus PAL behind the scenes. **Walk the house and step into a room.** The home screen is an explorable cutaway house with lamplit, individually themed rooms (the Attic Loft, Moon Bedroom, Writing Study, and more). Tapping a room transitions you into a full-screen, face-to-face video conversation with the PAL who lives there. **Have a real, two-way conversation.** Each PAL is a real-time Tavus CVI persona, so the back-and-forth is face-to-face video, not text. It greets you in character, listens, responds with natural turn-taking and live captions, and holds a genuine conversation rather than a one-way playback. **Talk about what matters.** You can reminisce, ask for advice, talk through something you're worried about, or just catch up. The PAL is grounded in that person's stories, values, and way of speaking, so the conversation feels like *them*, the storyteller in the study, the parent in the kitchen, your own future self in the loft. **Be remembered across visits.** This is the core of the experience: each PAL carries persistent, cross-session memory. Leave a room and come back, and the conversation picks up where it left off, the second conversation knows more than the first. Over time, a daily journaling loop keeps depositing new memories, stories, and reasoning patterns, so the PAL keeps becoming more like the real person. **Share the house.** Because the memory lives with the PAL, a house can be shared, so the people you love (or your future self) can step into a room and talk *with* you, even years later.

Echo is a spatial front-end in Lovable wrapped around a set of persistent-memory Tavus PALs, with each room in the house mapped to one persona. **The PALs (Tavus).** Each person in the house is a Tavus CVI persona built through PALmaker and Magic Canvas. We use Magic Canvas to structure each persona's identity, personality, and knowledge base, the stories, values, speaking style, and reasoning patterns that make a PAL feel like a specific person rather than a generic agent. In the House Builder flow, adding a member automatically queues a PALmaker persona for them, so the house and its inhabitants are provisioned together. **Real-time conversation (CVI).** When you step into a room, we open a Tavus Conversational Video Interface session for that room's persona, embedded directly in the app. CVI handles the full face-to-face pipeline, real-time facial rendering and micro-expressions via Phoenix, natural turn-taking, live transcription and captions, so the back-and-forth is genuine two-way video, not scripted playback. **Persistent memory.** Each persona runs with Tavus persistent memory enabled, giving cross-session recall: the PAL remembers prior conversations, so re-entering a room continues the relationship rather than restarting it. A daily journaling loop feeds new entries back into each persona's knowledge, so the memory base compounds over time and the PAL keeps growing more like the real person. **The app (Lovable).** The entire experience, the cutaway-house home screen, the six-step House Builder wizard, room-to-conversation transitions, the greeter character, and the embedded conversation view, is built and published in Lovable. Rooms are mapped to personas so that tapping a room resolves to the right PAL and opens its CVI session in a full-screen embed. **How it fits together.** House Builder (Lovable) → auto-provisions personas (PALmaker / Magic Canvas) → each room maps to a persona → tapping a room opens a real-time CVI conversation (Phoenix rendering, turn-taking, captions) → persistent memory carries context across every visit. The result is a single spatial interface where exploring a house and talking to the people in it are the same action.

**Two directions we'd take Echo next:** **Deepen the memory loop into a real daily ritual.** Right now memory compounds through conversation; next is a dedicated daily journaling check-in where your PAL interviews *you*, face to face, and writes the entry for you. Each session deposits new stories, opinions, and reasoning patterns, so the archive grows richer the more you live with it, and a PAL of your own self becomes something you build over years, not minutes. The journaling loop is both the acquisition funnel and the moat. **Open the house to more people, and more kinds of presence.** Layered sharing, from private, to shared with specific loved ones, to a public marketplace of expert and legacy PALs you can step into and learn from. The same spatial interface that holds your family could hold a mentor, a historical figure, or a community of voices, each one a room you can walk into and talk with.
